How to get it
Create a Beneficiary

How to Create a beneficiary:

  1. Log into new Business Online.
  2. Select Setup & Administration.
  3.  Select Funds transfers.
  4. Select Create beneficiary.
  5.  Fill in the beneficiary details by mandatory fill in of the red stars in the page.
  6. Save beneficiary.

Navigate all the tabs for:

  • Account details.
  • Select domestic Base option for local payments and Domestic base/FX for payments in other currencies at the top of the page.
  • Bank details (search for banks by clicking on Lookup after putting in the bank name and county).
  • Account Details; Fill in the beneficiary account number, transactional limit should be 999 999 9999, the currency and transactional limit currency.
  • Payments types; (select all payment types by clicking on Add all to move the content to the right if not moved) .
  • Pay alert; This enables the beneficiary to receive an alert when the payment is to sent through. Start with +256 for SMS alerts
Make a Local Payment

How to make a local payment:

  1. Log into new Business Online.
  2. The new Business Online dashboard opens.
  3. Click on Funds transfer tab.
  4. Select payment to make third party payments.
  5. Click on Create payment.
  6. Select the Payment type for those with more than one payment type.

 You will now be able to capture a payment:

  • Select a Value date for the payment.
  • Select the Account number you want to pay from.
  • Select the Transfer currency (this is the currency of the beneficiary account).
  • Fill in the Debit reference (this is the narrative you will see on your debit account for this transaction).
  • Click on Select beneficiary after creating a beneficiary (Steps below). The select beneficiary dialogue box opens.
  • Add the selected beneficiary.

7.  Type in the amount you want to transfer in the Transfer amount field.

  • Type the Beneficiary reference and click on Apply.
  • The beneficiary reference is the narrative the beneficiary will view on their account for this credit on their account.

8. Click on Submit to make payment.

Make Foreign Currency Payment

How to make a foreign currency payment:

  1. Refer to how to make a local payment (Step 1 to 8).
  2. Please note transfer currency should be the currency of the account receiving money.
  3. Click on Currency details.
  • Select type of rate to be used: Pre-book rate (this is a negotiated rate from the bank).
  • Type the rate quoted and the dealer reference, Quotation, date. You can always negotiate a rate from our Global Markets team on +256 417 154 981 or input the rate captured from E-market trader. Indicative rate (this is the current available board rate).
  • Use BOL RFQ (Request for Quote- Online negotiation capability on the system)

4. Click on Submit to make payment.

Make Bill Payments

How to make Bill payments

  1. Refer to how to make a local payment (1 to 8).
  2. Click on select Bill.
  3.  A screen will pop up for you to select the Bill ID on the drop down basing on Biller name.
  4.  Select the Biller reference by checking the box.
  5. Click on the “SEARCH” Tab to display the Bill reference screen.
  6. Click inside the slot under “Please enter Reference” to capture reference, thereafter click outside and click ok.
  7.  Select Transaction by clicking Amount to activate “ADD SELECTED”.
  8. The Bill payment will automatically get displayed under the BOL payment screen with the Amount and reference auto populated.
  9. Click “SUBMIT” to create the payment.
Pay URA

How to pay URA using Business Online:

  1. Log into new Business Online. Business Online (standardbank.com)
  2. Click on Funds transfer tab.
  3. Click on Create payment. 
  4. Select Bill. A screen will pop up for you to select the Bill ID/ Name. \
  5. Select URA from the drop down   
  6. Select the “SEARCH” Tab to display the Bill reference screen. 
  7. Capture the Bill Reference 
  8. Select “ADD SELECTED”. The Bill payment will automatically get displayed on the payment screen with the Amount and reference auto populated.
  9. Click “SUBMIT” to create the payment.
  10. Authoriser visits the Home page To do-list & Approves the payment.
Pay Salaries

Pay salaries:

You can pay up to 40,000 people at once:(Please create diferent schedules for diferent currencies)

  1. Open the excel file shared by Stanbic.
  2. Fill in the details accordingly.
  3. Click on enable content on top of the page and then click on file convert after . It will prompt you to save the file with message “File has been successfully generated”.
  4. Save the file in a location you can get it.
  5. Refer to how to make a local payment (1 to 7).
  6. Click on Import transactions. Browse to the location where your file is located.
  7. Click Import.
  8. Click on Submit to make payment.
  • Note: File should be in a format shared by bank team member.
Pay Mobile Money

How to Pay Mobile Money:

For a customer to take on Mobile money ensure they have signed the Mobile money agreement to be enabled.

  1. Open the excel file shared by Stanbic. Ensure the list you are to pay to is validated through the validation tool.
  2. Fill in the sections of Transfer amount, Beneficiary reference (phone number), registered phone name with the MNO.
  3.  Click on enable content on top of the page and then click on file convert after . It will prompt you to save the file with message “File has been successfully generated”.
  4. Save the file in a location you can get it. 6. Refer to how to make a local payment (Step 1 to 7).
  5. Click on Import transactions. Browse to the location where your file is located.
  6. Click Import.
  7. Click on Submit to make payment
Make Own Transfer

Make own transfer:

Own transfer means moving money from one of your company accounts to another within the same company.

  1.  Log into new Business Online.
  2. The new Business Online dashboard opens.
  3. Click own transfer tab.
  4. Select Make own transfer from the dashboard:
  5.  Click on Create own transfer.
  6. Select the Own transfer type for those with more than one transfer type.
  7. You will now be able to make an own transfer:
  • Select a Date for the own transfer.
  • Select an Account you want to transfer from.
  • Select a Transfer currency.
  • Click on Select account.
  • Enter the Transfer amount for each account to be paid.
  • Add the Selected accounts to be paid.

8. Click on Submit to make transfer.

Authorizing Payments

How to Authroise a Payment :
The authoriser is responsible for authorising payment instructions.

  1. Log into new Business Online.  
  2. The dashboard displays the authoriser’s specific tasks on “TO DO; Funds transfer”.
  3. Select the xxx batch payments to authorise either under payments or transfers.
  4. Select a batch payment to authorise by selecting the batch number in blue. An authoriser can authorise, stop or decline a payment.
  5. Scroll below and select Authorise to accept payment
Password self-reset

How to reset your password :

  1. Logon to Business Online and input your User ID.
  2. Click on the option of Reset Password screen.
  3. Enter your token number displayed from the physical token ofered by the bank.
  4. Enter the OTP sent to your phone as an SMS.
  5. You will receive an Authentication Code via Email and/or SMS.
  6. Then capture a NEW PASSWORD and CONFIRM THE PASSWORD. (Min 8 Max 14 7. characters, Alpha numerical characters)
  7. Click Submit

  1. Log into new Business Online.

Make own transfer:

  • Select a Date for the own transfer.
  • Select an Account you want to transfer from.
  • Select a Transfer currency.
  • Click on Select account.
  • Enter the Transfer amount for each account to be paid.
  • Add the Selected accounts to be paid.

8. Click on Submit to make transfer.
