Stanbic Uganda bids farewell to three retiring board leaders

Stanbic Uganda gave a befitting send-off to three of its retiring Board Directors at an African themed farewell party filled with sophisticated opulence and culinary majesty, that was hosted in the serenity of the Kampala Serena Hotel, recently.

The “MaKaBo Triple Bash” as codenamed by Stanbic’s marketing team, was patronized by a carefully selected guestlist including clients, friends, and family of the retiring directors. Also in attendance were two ex-board chairs, Martin Aliker (2002-2008) and Hannington Karuhanga (2008 to 2014).
The three retiring Directors include celebrated Board leader Japheth Katto who served for nine years, six as Chairman of the Board of Directors Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) and three years, in the same capacity, for Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL).

Also retiring was distinguished Mathematics Professor and Gospel teacher Patrick Mangheni who served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) for eight years, during which he also chaired the bank’s Engineering and Innovation Excellency Committee and was also a member of the Risk and Audit Management committees.

Ms. Sola David-Borha, the third retiree, served on the Board of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL) and Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) for three years during which she Chaired the Board Risk Management Committee for the bank. im Tshabalala, the Standard Bank Group Chief Executive who praised the retiring board leaders for their contribution and committed leadership.
